The imperial palace for twentyfour emperers during the Ming and Qing dynasties, it is located in the center of Beijing, consists of 980 buildings, covers 180 acres, is home to the Palace Museum and a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Great Wall
Considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World and observable from space stations orbiting the Earth, the 5,500 milelong Great Wall of China was started in 7 BC to protect the Chinese states and empires from invasion. If you include the natural defensive barriers and and branches, the Wall measures a total of 13,171 miles.
Summer Palace Beijing
The UNESCO World Heritage group calls the Summer Palace, “A masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design.” Started in 1153, it is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces that covers over a mile.
